American Youth Cheer (AYC) Divisions:

Division Descriptions:
AYC levels are broken up into four divisions: D8, D10, D12, D14. Cheerleaders are placed on divisions based on age and what is best for both the cheerleaders' development and the program's ability to provide instruction.
Division 8 (ages 5-8): In this division, the focus of our practices and development will be in the areas of:
- Choreography
- Strategic use of cheer
- Dance & motions
- Jumps, stunts and tumbling
Division 10 (ages 7-10): In this division, the focus of our practices and development will be in the areas of:
- Choreography
- Strategic use of cheer
- Dance & motions
- Jumps, stunts and tumbling
- Pyramids
- Dismounts
- Tosses
Division 12 (ages 9-12): In this division, the focus of our practices and development will be in the areas of:
- Choreography
- Strategic use of cheer
- Dance & motions
- Jumps, stunts and tumbling with a focus on increased complexity & difficulty
- Pyramids with a focus on increased complexity & difficulty
- Dismounts with a focus on increased complexity & difficulty
- Tosses with a focus on increased complexity & difficulty
Division 14 (ages 11-14): In this division, the focus of our practices and development shifts to mastering each of the skills in previous levels and performing as advanced athletes with skill, dedication and confidence.
